The McLean County Animal Shelter destroyed by early morning fire.
13 Cats and 3 dogs were lost in this tragedy.
Their pawprints will forever be in our hearts: Oscar, Disco, Raven, Tinkles, Oliver, Reuben, Muffin, Kirby, Molly, T. Hold 'Em, Cotton & Offspring, Augustus, Miss Perkins~~ Crash, Skipper, Buddy

Great News for the Animals and the Community of McLean County!
YOUR local animal shelter is now open on a regular schedule! Our hours are: Weekdays 8a.m. to 1p.m. and Saturdays 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. We are closed on Tuesdays, Sundays and Government Holidays.We are located at 1508 Hwy. 136 East, Calhoun, KY. That's BESIDE Southern States and BEHIND the County Road Dept. Please call 270-499-2556 for further directions. Our graciously donated road sign is aqua blue with red letters. You can't miss it!
We are very rescue friendly and rescue oriented. This means that we strive to save as many 4-legged lives as possible by sending them to the rescue groups that we work with. (If you are a rescue group please feel free to contact us. We are willing to work with anyone!) Sadly, we aren't able to save them all. However, your donations of food, time, and money will ensure that our rescue efforts can continue. It's because of your donations that we are able to save lives!
Adoption Fees: Adoption prices vary depending on which vet you choose to use. Please email or call for pricing. The average range is $35-$65 for male dogs and cats and $55-$85 for female dogs and cats. Please keep in mind that the above listed prices are for the spay or neuter AND the rabies vaccination. Our adoption policy requires that ALL animals adopted from the shelter MUST be spayed or neutered. This is a strictly followed and enforced shelter policy AND county ordinance.

We are ALWAYS in need of Purina Dog Chow, Purina Puppy Chow, Purina Cat Chow, and Purina Kitten Chow, Corn Cob Bedding (Rural King, $3.99), Clothes Detergent, and Bleach.
